How To Spend New Year’s Eve In Sydney On A Backpacker Budget

If you’re lucky enough to spend New Year’s Eve in Sydney, you want to do it right without breaking the bank. Many events can charge upwards of $200-$300 per person, not including alcohol or food. We’ve done some digging to find the best places to kiss 2022 goodbye in Sydney on a backpacker budget. From watching the fireworks, to glitter parties, bottomless drinks packages, and music festivals, keep reading to find out where you should go this New Year’s Eve!

Of course, one of the main attractions in Sydney is the fireworks above the Sydney Harbour Bridge. There are two shows, one at 9pm and one at midnight. The 9pm show is intended to be family-friendly. Many free locations, especially those with good views, will reach capacity early in the day. If you decide to head to a free park, be sure to pack snacks and get there early! 1) Side Bar NYE Glitter Party

4) New Years Eve In The Rocks

Entry to The Rocks is selling fast! With tickets starting at $25, you’ll have access to some of the best vantage points for The Fireworks and access to a brilliant selection of Food and Drinks venues! Purchase tickets here.

5) NYE In The Park

This is the only NYE festival in Sydney, so it would be one not to miss if you are a festival-lover! This year they’re bringing a MASSIVE line-up to Victoria Park, including Flight Facilities, Lime Cordial, Cut Copy, The Poof Doof Drag Jamboree, and heaps more. Last release tickets $169! 6) Salty’s Bondi

Celebrate in the heart of Bondi Beach, with ocean views! Indulge in a 3 hour bottomless experience, with unlimited beer, wine & seltzers, and an all-you-can-eat Bondi X Socal sharing feast of food for $199pp. Tickets here.

7) Harbour Party At Luna Park
