Flying into Sydney, and you’ll notice pretty quickly that it’s a city surrounded by water. The beaches and swimming pools here are your ultimate zones for chilling out and soaking up the sun, and with dozens lining the coast and inner-city harbour, you have every reason to grab your togs (bathers) and get swimming!

Below, we’ve wrapped up our favourite swimming spots, with a trusty pre-pinned Google map that you can save to your own device.

McCallum Pool

A favourite with locals, McCallum Pool at Cremorne Point is your place to chill out and soak up a stunning view overlooking the Sydney Harbour. This seawater swimming pool also features a waterside timber deck, making it an ideal spot for sunbaking.

Bronte Beach

In between Bondi and Coogee, you’ll find the idyllic Bronte Beach, so if you’re doing the Bondi to Coogee Walk, this is your perfect halfway swim stop. Right by it, there is also the public ocean pool you can do a few laps in. Afterwards, grab some fish and chips to eat on the huge grassy park right behind the beach – you’ve earned it!

Murray Rose Pool

Ask us about our top swimming spots, and Murray Rose Pool at Redleaf, Double Bay is one of our all-time faves! Formerly known as Redleaf Pool, it’s a beautiful space to relax and watch the yachts go by, or take a walk along the wrap-around pontoon. This harbourside space is huge, which means there’ll always be room for you even on the warmest of days!

Balmoral Beach

North of the Harbour Bridge, Balmoral Beach is your go-to for sublime swims, paddle boards and salty sun bathing. The added beauty of this beach is that it’s right by some awesome walking tracks, including the 2km walk around Middle Head or the 4km Chowder Bay to Bradleys Head walk which will take you to Taronga Zoo. When you’re all sunned out, grab a cool drink at The Boathouse (which is where you can also hire your SUP boards!).

Coogee Beach

Coogee is the pick of Sydney’s beaches for Conor from our Marketing team. There’s the beautiful beach, ocean pools, a tonne of eateries and bars…what else could we wish for?! Fun fact: Coogee is also home to Australia’s last-remaining women’s only seawater pool, known as McIver’s Ladies Baths.

Bondi Beach

And finally, Bondi. The most famous of all, and one not to be missed! Bondi is a sprawling 1km, crescent-shaped beach, and is perfect for surfers, sunbakers, gym goers, and healthy eaters alike. There is always something to do or see at Bondi Beach, so set aside plenty of time to explore!
